Local Schools in Marina del Rey and Venice Beach
As part of our commitment to community this event benefits local schools in the Venice Beach, Mar Vista and Marina del Rey area. A portion of sponsorship dollars will be donated to the schools, and participants will have the opportunity to donate to a general school fund or specific schools in the area. Participants have the option to create a fundraising team or simply donate while registering for the event.

Community Service
Community and service are important to Generic Events. The owners, Brennan and Michelle, have lived in Venice Beach since 2007 and are raising two teenagers, the youngest attending Venice High School.
Brennan has served on the Venice Neighborhood Council and is currently on the Board of the Venice Chamber of Commerce. He organized street clean ups during and after the pandemic where the entire family, along with dedicated volunteers, picked up trash and swept the streets for a cleaner city. He was on the organizing committee of Friends of Venice Boardwalk, which lead to the cleaning up of the Boardwalk following the pandemic, and most recently was on the organizing committee of Last Thursdays, a monthly free concert on the boardwalk.
Additionally, Michelle is laser focused on creating fundraising strategies to benefit various non-profits in the community. For the last four years she has played an integral role in raising $100,000 every year benefitting The Midnight Mission. Michelle develops peer to peer fundraising strategies and secures sponsor dollars that directly go to charity.
Our partners include: The Midnight Mission, the non-profit partner of Turkey Trot Los Angeles, Olvera Street Merchants Association, the non-profit partner of Los Muertos 5k, Angel City Sports, the non-profit partner of Pasadena Triathlon.
Benefitting Local Schools
The non-profit FEATSTREET Inc., will act as fiscal receiver for donations for the Venice Beach Half Marathon and 5k. All of the funds donated will be distributed to each school following each event.
